Police want to trace a 53-year-old man who could be “armed and dangerous” over a woman’s death in Plymouth.

The woman in her 40s was found seriously injured in the street on West Hoe Road on Wednesday night and died later in hospital.

Devon and Cornwall Police are searching for Paul Antony Butler, described as 6ft 5in tall with brown/grey hair and blue eyes.

“We believe that this man could be armed and dangerous, so we are telling the public not to approach him in any circumstances and immediately call 999 if you have seen this man,” said DI Rob Smith

Detectives said the two people were believed to have known each other.
